In June 2017, a joint conference co-organised by ICC, Global Pound Conference and the National Center for Technology and Dispute Resolution brought together 170 lawyers, magistrates, academics, researchers, dispute resolution organisations and providers from over 30 countries on every continent. The goal was to discuss the significant and largely unexplored potential of online dispute resolution (ODR).

In his opening remarks at the conference, Alexis Mourre, President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, said:

There may be no more relevant topic than this one for the future of dispute resolution.

Promoting diversity and inclusiveness through online dispute resolution, Mirèze Philippe, Special Counsel at the ICC Court pointed out:

Everything is online except justice … Justice denied to millions of people who cannot afford going to courts, or who are disabled or in remote places with no access to justice to seek remedies, ends up in a denial of justice.1

Video recordings of the two-day conference are now available free of charge at http://library.iccwbo.org/dr-videos.htm.
